UN GIGANTE ROJO

As it gives off radiation and expands into a red giant, our dying sun will shine like never before. In its glare, the Sun will generate immense heat, boiling and evaporating the Earth’s oceans, destroying the atmosphere and melting the granite surface and the basalt rocks. We imagine that our Sun will then run out of fuel. In its last stages, it will shrink to a size hundreds of times smaller due to the effect of gravity, becoming a dense white dwarf, a miniscule, exhausted ember in the vast, burning universe.

When the Earth is destroyed, its oceans boiling with the last explosions of a dying Sun, the only lifeforms that will survive will be those that have gone beyond their own planet or have found some kind of protection. The last surviving woman of this Earth encounters a being from another planet and they exchange gestures, languages and emotions in a hypnotic transaction.
