“This book shares its own infection: everything each play swallowed from the people who participated in them”, writes the playwright and theatre director Agostina Luz López, who has just published Como un espejo (Like a Mirror, Mansalva). The book includes the plays written by her –Corazón de boxeadora (Heart of a Boxer), Mi propia playa (My Own Beach), La laguna (The Lake), Los Milagros (The Miracles), Animal Romántico (Romantic Animal)–, pictures, diaries of the rehearsals and some reflections on her craft gathered in the final segment that gives its title to the whole book. In Natalí Aboud’s diary about Animal Romántico (which premiered in 2018 in the Sarmiento Theatre) lists are included with random items like “buy yerba” or “encountering the play was deforming myself”. Como un espejo is the reflection of a theatre project that is at the same time literary, since Agostina claims that writing and directing became a sticky progress, very hard to discern one from the other.
