Punto de Fuga
In 2012 Laura Kalauz undertook a project called “Punto de Fuga” (vanishing point), which proposes, through a series of artistic practices, a space of interaction between the correctional institution and the outside world. In every new version, the limits and possibilities of jail—beyond its punishing function—are explored. How can incarcerated people participate in the public sphere? Where is freedom in a jail? What happens when an artistic act is mistaken for an illegal act? For the presentation of this project in Berlin, Laura Kalauz invited author and director Agostina López to collaborate, together with Lili Deli (who was then incarcerated in the Ezeiza jail), in the creation of a monologue about how norms function and are subverted in everyday life behind bars. In this new presentation, Lili Deli is now free and the project thus acquires a new direction.
